| Abstract | A grande vantagem na utilização de imagens de radar (Radio Detection and Ranging) é a possibilidade de levantamento em áreas frequentemente recobertas por nuvens, uma vez que o imageamento por sensores ativos independe das condições atmosféricas presentes na região de interesse. Este trabalho aborda a utilização do Modelo de Contorno Ativo (Snakes) para a extração do eixo de simetria de estradas em uma imagem SAR aerotransportada. Para tanto, é necessário que se tenham pontos pré-estipulados próximos àfeição de interesse, denominados pontos-sementes. A marcação desses pontos (seeding) é realizada de maneira semiautomática por meio do conceito de Mapas Auto-Organizáveis (Self-Organizing Maps - SOM). A interpolação desses pontos caracteriza a entrada para o método de extração. ABSTRACT: The great advantage in the usage of radar images is the possibility of survering areas often covered by clouds, since the imaging by active sensors is independent from atmospheric conditions in the region of interest. In this work, we discuss the use ofen active contour model (Snakes) to extract the center-axis of roads in a airborne SAR image. Therefore, it is necessary to have previously defined points within the feature of interest, called seed points. The generation of these points (seeding) will be performed in semi-automatic way through Self-Organizing Maps (SOM). The interpolation of these points characterize the input data Snakes method. | |||
